Our God is worthy to be praised!
Have you a heart that's weary? Have a need in your life - it doesn't matter how big, or how small or what category it might be in, God is still interested in helping you out.
Often many of us might tell God how best to meet that need of our, but when we do that, we are putting Him in a box, we are limiting Him. The best thing for us to do is not to worry about the future, nor feel guilty about the past. If you find that difficult to accomplish, then try praising God for who He is, and/or thank Him for what you do have now.
In II Samuel 22:4 and Psalms 18:3 KJV it states:
I shall call on the Lord who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Our God, the Father of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, is God Almighty, God Elohim and God Jehovah, he is worthy to be praised. I the Old Testament God tells us over and over again that we should praise Him all the time.
Psalm 35:27-28
Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
And my tongue shall speak of thy praise and of they righteousness all the day long.
How you choose to praise God is entirely up to you, in the last Psalm it speaks totally about praising God in various ways.
Psalm 150:1-6
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Some people praise God for what he has given us; spiritually and all the other categories of which you and I have been blessed. For my life, I praise God for who He is and thank Him for what He has given me. I try to praise Him each morning before I get up and start my day. I've been doing this now for almost a year; there are days at a time I might forget, but when I realize that I have forgotten, I do pretty well getting back into the groove.
My husband and I own a business which is seasonal, and work part-time in retail. We 'get by' but we have debts and usually have a very difficult time getting through the winter, and then play 'catch up' until about June until we try to save for the next winter.
This past year, while practicing this principle of praising God as much as possible, helped me to not be anxious about financial matters. When I would begin to get concerned about a big bill coming up or that type of thing, I was able to put the need back where it belonged, on God's shoulders. He has already promised to meet every need. Phil 4:19; II Corinthians 9:8.
James 1:17 states:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, which whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Any good quality or characteristic we've received, we received from God. He can only give what He is. He is Holy Spirit, John 4:4.
These are some of the many things I praise Him for:
He is righteous, sanctified, redemption, deliverance, faithful, fruitful, good, tender, gentle, kind, prosperous, victorious, upright, He has integrity, He is wise, He is able and willing, cleansing, compassion, concerned, helper, seeker, finder, lifter, lover, when necessary He will hide us from our enemies. He is the God of plenty, He nurtures, comforts, consoles. He is our high tower, our rock, sword shield, river of living waters, the light.
This past year was the best year we had financially in twenty-two years of marriage. Our needs were met, we had some left over to take a few trips. We were not bound down by money concerns. This winter we had someone give us a large sum of money out of the blue, without mentioning to them we had a need.
God is worthy to be praised!
Praise God for who He is, thank Him for His many blessings on your life and watch your life turn around. Expect miracles every day.
God Bless you.
